Joe Carlton, Education Coordinator

Joe Carlton is thrilled to join Seattle SCORES as their new Education Coordinator! With over fifteen years teaching in different educational fields, he's excited to bring his experience in program development and youth enrichment to all our Poet-Athletes.   Joe's first experience with Seattle SCORES was when he was a teacher at Maple and Emerson Elementary schools as their nutrition educator. He was drawn to the ideals of building community through soccer and poetry, and found himself integrating some of those ideals into his own lessons teaching how you can build community by learning about other cultures through the food they eat.   Outside of work, Joe enjoys staying active by playing various sports, exploring nature through hiking, and unwinding by playing guitar as an amateur musician.  Joe is looking forward to connecting with all our coaches and Poet- Athletes across the Seattle and Highline School Districts in the new Spring season!
